Our company “Botejyu®” was founded in 1946 in the gourmet city of Tamade, Osaka.
Our restaurant name “Botejyu®” was coined from the rhythmic sound of cooking okonomiyaki. The first part of the name, “bote”, comes from the plopping sound in Japanese of an okonomiyaki being turned over with a metal spatula. The latter part of the name, “jyu”, represents the sizzling sound of the okonomiyaki cooking on the teppan grill. To this day, we, at Botejyu, still value this “delicious sound” as we continue to prepare each and every okonomiyaki with care and passion.
Since our establishment 60 years ago, our restaurant name has been protected as a registered trademark.
We feel our trademarks symbolize the reputation and credibility of our company and view it and an “invaluable asset”. By using the trademarks appropriately, we will continue to protect the reputation and the credibility it represents.
