Botejyu® was founded in 1946 in the gourmet city of Tamade, Osaka. Our restaurant name was derived from the cooking rhythm of okonomiyaki. “Bote” illustrates the action of flipping over the okonomiyaki with a spatula. “Jyu” depicts the sound of the okonomiyaki sizzling on the teppan grill. We, at Botejyu®, still value this “delicious sound” as we have continuously put our heart into preparing each and every okonomiyaki with passion. Recognizing the significance of our restaurant name as a symbol of the company’s credibility and trust from our loyal patrons, we have registered the restaurant name as a trademark. In this sense, we view our restaurant name as a valuable asset which we must continue to utilitize appropriately as we strive to uphold the reputation of our other trademarks as well.
